It’s always exciting when new technology rolls out and this is particularly exciting for digital marketing as Facebook roll out the capacity to post a video in your cover image.
This was first spotted on the Narcos Facebook Page (Netflix Drama) on the 25th of April by Twitter user @vladcalus and it was confirmed that the functionality was being tested. (https://www.facebook.com/NarcosNetflix/)
Having just logged in to our own company page, you can imagine the excitement in the capacity to add video to this primary real estate on your company page. As always, there are some guidelines to be followed, the video must be between 20 – 90 seconds in length and needs to be a minimum of 820 x 312 pixels. We’ve tested it with a 1080p video and this provides the opportunity to drag and reposition the video in the frame.
This is an exciting opportunity to showcase content at the top of your page and to keep the information topical and relevant. If you’ve got a sale, an event or simply want to showcase your business, this is another great move to position your content above the fold to greatly improve the visibility.
